Richard Shmazian graduated from the University of Western Australia. He went to school there for Business and Law and wants to reconnect with his fellow alumni.

Gold is an ancient currency that has been around for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Gold has been used commercially by literally hundreds of societies stretched across many millenia. Its properties have endeared it to centuries worth of humans. People have long seen the advantages of gold–it is malleable, lustrous, ubiquitous but still rare, and durable.

The durability of gold meant that it could be used for decorative purposes or for currency and it would not quickly deteriorate. The malleability of the element meant that it could be formed into many shapes. The fact that gold is present in almost any geographic location, but is still hard to find and mine, means that it maintains value while being present in many societies at once. It is these attributes that made gold so popular to begin with and made it the first truly international currency.

Gold today is still seen as a legitimate investment, though its no longer a currency. Gold is used in many high tech jobs and is still, of course, a mainstay in the jewelry industry. Gold is also a big part of the modern investment portfolio. Gold as an investment offers people the opportunity to protect the rest of their investments from straining economies or currencies.

Store of Value

November 8th, 2010 - Posted by admin

Richard Shemesian attended the University of Western Australia, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Australia. He attended the Law School and the Business school at the University of Western Australia.

One of the most precious minerals in the history of the planet is gold. It has been treasured throughout human history because of its natural lust, malleability, and relative rarity. Gold has been prized because it is easily formed into whatever the artisan wishes it to be–necklace, ring, statue, coin. Gold does not lose its value over time for whatever reason, so it works very well as a store of value–something even the ancient peoples came to understand very quickly.

Gold still is a solid investment in the modern day economy. Many investors still include gold in their investment portfolio, but it is not because they wish to create beautiful jewelry or statues, but because they want to protect their investments.

Gold works as a protective asset because no matter what currency collapses or how bad the economy gets–gold maintains its value fairly well. It operates like a safety net for an investment portfolio. People will often criticize gold because it does not make big gains–but the past 2-3 years have shown that gold can grow rapidly.

As Old As Time

Richard Shemesian was able to attend one of the most respected universities in Australia, which certainly gave him a leg up on his competition. He attended the Law and Business schools at the University of Western Australia. Receiving degrees from those prestigious colleges allowed him to more in life.

Gold is not just another mineral like malachite or lithium–it is worth something beyond what it can be used for in terms of technology. Gold has been used since antiquity as decorations and as a currency. It is a mineral whose commercial uses go back always as far as commercialism itself.

In the modern day, gold is considered an investment. While many financial talking heads do not quite understand its popularity, most investors do. Gold is not meant to pull in the big bucks by suddenly rising, what it does is protect value.

If an investor needs a way to protect his assets or store value in an investment, then gold is the perfect solution. Gold allows investors to protect themselves against economic recessions or crashes. This is why so many people are bullish on gold right now, because they see an opportunity to protect against anything else that might happen.

Worth Its Weight in…

Richard Shemesian is a graduate of one of the most respected universities in Australia. The University of Western Australia’s Business and Law Schools are highly celebrated. Shemesian had the good fortune to receive degrees from both schools.

Gold is an ancient mineral and element that has been used since times prehistoric. It can be mined in a variety of ways, including open mining and underground mining, depending on where the gold itself is located. Gold was originally used as a decorative metal, used in necklaces and statues. Later on it was used in currency rather commonly, a use that lasted until the 1970s or so.

Gold has decreased in importance to most investors, but the smartest investors know that you need to have gold in your portfolio. Gold is basically used a hedge against falling currencies or crashing economies. Investing in gold gives a sort of investment safety net.

Many investors complain about gold investments because they do not product incredible profits. But this mostly overlooks the central purpose of investing in gold, which is not to receive large dividends, but rather to protect savings. Almost any modern investor would be wise to look into investing in gold, it is an essential part of the modern portfolio.

Gold For Protection

September 8th, 2010 - Posted by admin

Richard Shmazian graduated from one of the most respected universities in Australia. He is a proud graduate of the University of Western Australia. Shmazian received degrees in Business and Law. As an alumnus he has been interested in staying in contact with his former classmates.

Investing in gold is a strategy that has been used for many years. It is often spoken of as a way to prevent inflation from hurting your savings. Gold has not been a protective asset for only years or decades–but for millennia. Millions of people invest in gold because of its ability to protect savings from being whiped away in stock market crashes or inflationary incidents.

Gold is a financial insurance plan that is used against the depreciation of currencies. As the dollar loses value, gold gains. If every other investment loses value and the dollar suddenly plummets in purchasing power, gold will maintain its value.

Many people criticize gold because it does not give the investor interest. However, this is a gross misunderstanding of gold’s purpose. Gold investments are not designed to produce steady gains, though they often do that, but rather to protect investments.
